How do you use the word “Delicious”?

How do you use the word “Delicious”? Do you say it when you want to express your liking to a certain exotic food you just first tasted? or do you say it to your girlfriend or boyfriend when they cook an average chicken alfredo for you?

In general, the term delicious according to Dictionary.com, it is highly pleasing to the sense specially to taste or smell. Although most people from different countries use this word in expressing their delight in a certain food or aroma, this word is also used as a substitute for the word delightful which means very pleasing. There are lots of things that can be pleasing not only FOOD therefore, the word delicious is sometimes used in stating admiration over someone who possess a highly pleasing appearance or a delicious sense of humor.

In almost all countries or communities, people share common geographic boundaries and cultural heritage. Norms and traditions are respected and spread through the different ages. Same goes with their languages and use of words.

The word delicious is being used differently in some places. Like for instance, in an Asian country which I won’t declare for personal reasons, the people use delicious in referring to their favorite foods and patable goods that they find pleasing. But there is a certain community who also use the term in referring to people who are beautiful and appealing. They say that a person is delicious when they have tantalizing eyes, pointed no, red lips and nice physique.

I don’t know if you find it strange but in my opinion, it’s a unique characteristic and practice that those Asian people must be proud of.
